One of my favorite things about being a part of The Preschool at Christ the King, is experiencing first-hand how God brought each and every teacher to be a part of this amazing program.

I met Cully Bakht nearly twenty years ago in the early years of our church. She and John were newlyweds and teaching our twin boys in the 2-year-old Sunday School class. The Bakhts were “rock stars” as you can imagine, and our boys only wanted to go if Big John and Cully were teaching!

Here is some insight into who Cully is and why she is such an amazing teacher and a blessing to have on our team!

I grew up in Tunica, Mississippi on a cotton farm

How did you get your name?

It is my maternal grandmother’s name

I liked to do lots of things.  I liked riding my bike and picking cotton and turning it into pillows.

What do you remember about your first years of Preschool or school?

I remember my favorite teacher, Ms. Julienne Edwards. She was my kindergarten teacher. She was very sweet and we were her first class.

I play tennis and walk my dog.

What led you to answer the call to be a part of building the Preschool at Christ the King?

I loved what you were doing with the school and I love children and seeing them develop that love of learning.

What is one word that other people would use to describe you?

I hope people would say that I’m happy.
